I had the pleasure of watching one of the most wonderful movies that I have seen in a long time over this past weekend. The movie was called "The Ultimate Gift." After watching the movie, I sat back and looked at my daughter and asked myself, What is the Ultimate Gift? In the movie it was a series of 12 Gifts leading up to the final and Ultimate Gift of Love.
As a Catholic and as we enter into the season of Advent, I would have to say that God provided us with "The Ultimate Gift" when he sent us his Son to save us and lead us to Heaven. I wondered to myself, when was the last time I took 5 minutes of quiet time in the morning or the evening to reflect upon and bask in the Glory that God has given to us. We are reminded of this special life every time we walk into Church or say a prayer, but do we truly realize what God has given us and when was the last time we made sure we were not taking the Gift for granted.
On a personal level, I highly recommend this movie to everyone and when you are done watching it, ask yourself the simple question, what is "The Ultimate Gift" of life and have you earned and received that Gift.
May God Bless you and your families as we enter this truly special season and open our hearts to God's Gift to us.
